Beginner
I have never played, or only a few times. I still need to learn the technique, such as hitting a forehand or a backhand. I would like to take lessons to learn the basics, and be able to start rallying with my playing partners.
Would you like to sign up for tennis lessons and want to know your current level? We have defined the 6 levels of our tennis school.
The Mounier tennis school coaches players of all ages and levels. We do everything we can to guide you towards a suitable group and group lessons where you can learn and improve in the best possible way. To make this easier, we have divided the school into 6 distinct levels, from “beginner” to “competition”.
I have never played, or only a few times. I still need to learn the technique, such as hitting a forehand or a backhand. I would like to take lessons to learn the basics, and be able to start rallying with my playing partners.
I have already played a little tennis, and taken a few lessons. I have been taught the basics such as hitting a forehand or a backhand, I can manage a few rallies but without much control for now.
I have already taken at least one year of lessons. Basic actions such as the forehand, backhand or serve are properly mastered. I have also learned overhead actions such as (smash) or at the net (volley). I can string together several rallies in different areas of the court, but not yet at a moderate speed.
I have been playing for several years, and have taken many lessons. I am able to reproduce all the basic actions, recognise an advantage in my favour and exploit it, or go on the defensive on a defensive ball. The player can win points during training (match).
I am a complete player from a technical point of view and have taken several years of lessons. I am able to read the game or produce spin in my shots (topspin or slice). I can win points in a match and reproduce all the actions there, recognise a defence or build an attack.
I take part in competitions (tournaments and/or interclub) and have a ranking. I can reproduce all the actions of the game, understand and implement a game tactic, spins and use my full potential.
Determining your level is not a final action, but it is still important to give us the most accurate estimate possible when you sign up. The 6 levels form a basis that will make it easier to divide the group lessons.
Once you are registered, our qualified staff will test your level on the court to ensure the group that best suits your game, but also your age and your available times.
